Our idea of the book “Silent Spring” written in the year of 1962 by the recognized author and protector of the environment, Rachel Carsons, basically shows the danger of having the pesticide DDT exposed in our environment and in between our organisms.  She started to have doubts about technology, so she decided to elaborate this book in order to restore possibilities of change and make a difference on her own but with the whole world wanting to collaborate as well. This book took four years to be fully completed. As I said before, it mainly talks about the impact of DDT entering into the food chain and accumulating in the tissues where organisms have fat, causing genetic damage and cancer as well. She explained how a single application of DDT on a crop killed many insects, of all kinds, for weeks and months, and remained contaminated in the environment even after it was watered down with rain. At the end she concluded that DDT between other pesticides had injured birds and animals which had contaminated the whole world food supply.

Mentioned this we think that despite the fact that DDT does helps in a certain way the problems with pests and with some diseases, DDT always stays in the environment and causes much more secondary effects than the one which solves. We think that the use of DDT should be completely banned and instead use nature as a resource of help in order to solve certain problems.  For example if humans would get out of natural environments, then they wouldn’t be exposed to certain natural pests and problems. We think that the only way of get rid of pests, is to get rid of humans inside nature.

  1. Girls, what ever you think, needs to be supported. Please find info that can support why "DDT should be completely banned and use a natural resource to help solve certain problems."
