Soft ecologist viewpoints on the Chernobyl disaster

What is it         

The Chernobyl disaster occurred in 1986 was the release of radiation. In was the result of a flawed reactor design that was operated inadequately.

The explosion released at least 5% of the radioactive reactor core.

What we think about it:

We have been trying to utilize the world to our favor, at the point where severe disasters have occur. We need to begin to ask ourselves what benefit we get from all the time invested in activities such as watching television, using mobile devices and other. Family bonds and values have weakened due to the lack of time we invest in understanding the environment and spending time with our families. For example, we needed the Chernobyl nuclear power plant? Or was it just our desire to have a luxurious life ultimately forgetting the value of hard work and community. It is not a mystery for the world the effects disasters such as the Chernobyl leave behind. And for those who have not witnessed it will now have the chance to presence this monstrous event:

The effects are not local, they affect many other places. Our world is a system, the system is altered when one of these catastrophes occurred. The catastrophe spreads out.

 The intitial death rate of Chernobyl disaster was of 10 people, which in the later months increased to 24.The hole town of” Pripyat with a population of 49,360, had to be evacuated. There have been at least 1800 documented cases of thyroid cancer children who were between 0 and 14 years of age when the accident occurred., which is far higher than normal. There were over 100 radioactive elements released into the atmosphere when Chernobyl’s reactor exploded.”( Feature Stories).

Our constant desire to rule our enviorment based on technology leads us to the loss of lifes, enviorment and problems that affect at a long run. Why should we try to control our enviorment, when all of these disasters come as a result? Why should we control our enviorment when we can work with it instead? Why should we loose lifes and enviorment intend of working with people and enviorment as a hole. Lets think sustainability, lets respect our enviorment and work with it and for it.

This is our view point, the public awareness is necessary 1800 children is too much. How much more do we need to realize that we do not have the right to control the world and its resources.
