Soft Ecologist Point of view on "Silent Spring"

As Soft Ecologists we believe that humans and nature are part of a hole, we must work together balancing our use of resources and our quality of life.  If we are able to manage the environment in a sustainable way, by giving back and not asking too much form our environment we will live harmoniously.

Rachel Carson points out interesting points that link nature and human interaction. Talking about pesticides as a dangerous, poisoning force for environment.

We are able to realize and acknowledge that if we do not live in a balanced mentality with our environment nature will act against us.  This is exactly the case presented in Racheel Carsons book.

Human conquering nature is a reality, we have contaminated earth, rivers, sea and air with lethal materials. Which we are not even aware of. Shouldn't we at least know all of the components and toxics we are inhaling, eating, drinking and ignoring?

The injection of pesticides into water is dangerous, it dose not only affect the water we drink, but the water which is infiltrated into the underground water reserves, the water which evaporates, the water which runs through rivers and eventually the sea.

The problem of pesticides in water is much greater than we are told it is.
"pesticide pesticides stick to leaves, where they are absorbed. But rainfall inevitably washes some of the chemical off the leaf surface onto the soil below; and some may be transformed by sunlight."
Pesticides get trapped into the cycle, and end up affecting our health and the environments. Why use them then? Books like these help people reveal all the secrets which are held from us. Help us encounter the reality and the danger of pesticides.
